Danny Shivers grew up on Long Island, New York. He began playing guitar at the age of 10, and by the time he was 12 he was performing in bands covering guitar virtuosos Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore, Randy Rhoads, and Eddie Van Halen. He majored in music at Adelphi University, studying Audio Engineering & Production, Classical Guitar, and Voice. Vocally, he studied and performed Italian Opera Arias, as well as popular Broadway selections. He left New York in 1989 to tour with his band Catch 22. After touring for a few years on both the East and West Coast, he opened a recording studio in Maryland with bandmate Dominick Mammana. He met his wife, Tawn, and settled in Seaford, Delaware. He continued to perform live both solo and with his new band, King's Ransom, which he founded in 1993. He has been performing regularly for the last 30 years in the Delmarva area, from Wilmington and Dover, Annapolis and Kent Island, Ocean City and Rehoboth, to the D.C. and Baltimore areas.
